The idea of master chef Filippo Russo is to bring the Italian culture of gastronomy to Somerville, New Jersey. Through his philosophy, Da Filippo's Ristorante is recognized by European patrons spanning as far east as Japan and Singapore.     Perfect dinner with friends. Owners were so welcoming it seemed like we were in their home. Menu is varied but not overwhelming. They easily accommodated special requests and each of the dishes were excellent. During dinner the owner played piano and sang. Again, it was perfect and can't wait to return.

    From the moment we walked in, our experience was perfect. The ambience, service, and of course the food made our evening. The squid egg appetizers & squid ink risotto were divine. The desserts- creme brulee, cannoli, and pannacotta, icins on a cake. Thank you for a great experience. We will be back.

    An old favorite rediscovered. It's been a while, but we will be returning more frequently after this visit. The food is excellent and prepared with care and great flavors. It was also nice to converse in Italian with Filippo. Made the evening a little special.
