   we dined at The Pilot House several times in the past several years and it has always been great but time was much different. My cesar salad was warm and wilted with not much flavor. The timing in which our main course was brought out was too quick - got main course before we were finished with salad and presentation of plate was very generic. Also, our server was too busy running upstairs to the bar so we didn’t see her much. Not sure what’s happened but we will definitely not be returning anytime soon. lastly, Old Sac is not the same and there is a lot more people traffic walking on the boat looking through windows watching people eat.

   Very enjoyable in every way. We had a great meal and a wonderful time. Food was enjoyed and service was excellent. The ship is in great condition.

   Great service! Gave us a free dessert unexpectedly and sat us by the window by the river as requested. Only drawback was small menu with not very many entree choices. Overall, wonderful!

   Let me start off by saying I have dined at the Delta King before and had a nice experience. Last night however the main bar was closed so they were working with a limited bar. The other issue was there was only one server for the whole dining room. It was almost 30 minutes by the time we get any service. Another 15 until we got some warm bread and butter, which was good. Cesar salad came a bit later, but the dressing was not good. Brussel sprouts were a hit. Main courses were ok. We had to send back the fish as it was completely fried and nowhere on the menu did it mention “fried”. Really it all boils down to understaffing. We had ordered drinks…they never came. Our meals were served and as I was about to get up and see where the drinks were the server did bring a complementary glass of wine but honestly by that time I was almost about to just walk out. Over an hour to get our meals. I have waited on tables. Got through college waiting tables. I 100% know how it feels to be short staffed but my only advice to our server is to just communicate. Had she said we are one short tonight and there might be some delays I would have understood. Biggest issue though is getting the drinks out first! That relaxes everyone and, in all honesty, increase the sale and hence the tip if you follow the percentage rule of how to tip. Wrapped up the night with one of the Candle Light Concerts in the Railroad Museum…..which was awesome. Delta King can do better….

   Service was good, sat near the bar area, super cold in that area, too cold for winter, we froze pretty much the whole time, food was ok, very little servings for Dine Downtown, couldn't get a feel of what food was really tasting like, all in all would not go back.

   I loved the experience, which included a family of seals barking after dinner songs! The food was tasty but the highlights were the ambiance and service!

    We did the Pilot House for the January Dine Downtown $45/pp menu. The menu appealed to us as did the venue. The old Delta King brings you back in time. We had a 6:30 Thursday night reservation and downtown old Sac was pretty empty. The restaurant filled up quickly and by 7pm was almost completely full. Our waitress Johanna?? was very pleasant and apologetic as the wait staff had more tables then normal. She comped the $15 corkage fee for the wine we brought. The shrimp skewers were excellent as was the short rib ravioli. Loved the twist on traditional tiramisu by doing it with Meyer lemon. You can almost imagine folks from a different era in the dining room or strolling around the decks outside the staterooms.
