   40 minute wait with a reservation. Terrible service. Tables on top of each other so part of the conversation in surrounding tables. Overpriced, meh food.

   Great Christmas Eve dinner. We have celebrated here many years for Christmas. Michelle R does an excellent job in making this special for our family. Her service is spot on, and we've known her for so long she anticipates our every decision. Steaks were cooked to perfection and highly recommend redfish when it's an off the menu special. Always start with the calamari though and lobster bisques, two of our standbys. Only complaint this year was the restaurant seemed overcrowded and bar service was very slow. Thus, why a gave a 4 star this time versus a 5. Michelle again came to the rescue and got our appetizers started right as we sat to avoid some of the long wait ahead. We were seated 20 minutes past our reservation which was also different from prior years. Christmas Eve is always a problem at many restaurants so just bring your patience.

   Was great from start to finish. Redfish was great. Crab cake was just that crab!! It was awesome. No filler. We were there on Christmas Eve, and the place was packed. The servers were super busy, yet we were very well taken care of.

   Table 60 review, Check # 71511-8507, Server Leeann. Effie V's is one of my very favorite restaurants, period. But dining there on the 24th of December, although early, was mediocre. The perfect storm, Christmas Eve, crowded restaurant and understaffed. I ordered one of my favorites, the 22 oz bone in ribeye, medium rare. It was less than perfect. I had to send it back because it was not filleted and overcooked. It came back the same so I just didn't want to delay my dinner from being less than my expectations. The lobster bites were mostly dough. It was not Leeann's fault, it was just that the kitchen was overwhelmed. I tried to enjoy the food given the complexities of the evening. And although we were celebrating 2 birthdays, we didn't even get one complimentary dessert as is the standard. Recently, I have dined at Eddie V's on Kirby and I even took my entire staff for dinner and we ordered a variety of items, including three 22 oz. bone in ribeyes and the meat was tender, and flavorful. It was a perfect dining experience. At your location, to end our evening desserts, we ordered coffees and a cappuccino. I asked for a 2nd cup of coffee. I was brought 1 gulp of coffee in an espresso sized demi cup because the kitchen ran out of coffee. Considering our bill and more than a generous tip, almost $600...well, need I say more? Very disappointed. I didn't even bother taking pictures of our evening there.
