About this restaurant

  • Lively
  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for business meals
Eiko's delivers imaginative twists on traditional Japanese cuisine. Our vision for the menu combines modern and authentic traditional Japanese cuisine including seasonal, fresh sustainable fish and ingredients delivered daily from our local markets and purveyors.

The restaurant's signature design element is an elegant Ipe (ee-pay) wood from Brazil. It separates the main dining room and the lounge. Greeting you as you enter the main dining room are Koi fish painted on the floor. Above the Sushi bar, a 12' x 8' Japanese inscription screen, hand painted by a Buddhist Monk.

Arrived in the later afternoon for a lunch/happy hour and were seated right away as it wasn't too busy. The basil martinis were very good as were the rolls we selected. Very tasty fresh fish and everything is beautifully presented. Special shout out for the steamed shrimp gyozas - they are perfection! Servers were friendly and food arrived promptly. Always a nice dining experience.

Food was good. Service was awful...but they apologized repeatedly for it....but it was still awful. Odd as it is usually okay. We were outdoors and it was a pleasant evening.

Eiko’s is the kind of place that makes you hopeful at first glance: sleek decor, buzzing crowd, and a promising menu that blends traditional Japanese flavors with a modern Napa twist. Unfortunately, the execution didn’t match the ambition. Let’s start with the duck confit fried rice—what should have been a rich, savory highlight landed flat. The duck was dry and stringy, the rice overcooked, and the seasoning somehow both muddled and bland. It felt like a dish that had been reimagined too many times and lost its soul in the process. The chicken butter lettuce wraps followed, and while not offensive, they didn’t exactly make a case for themselves either. A little soggy, a little too sweet, and not enough texture or balance. A forgettable filler. The salmon bites were fine—fresh enough, nothing wrong, nothing remarkable. If you’re just looking for something to nibble on with a drink, they’ll do, but don’t expect them to leave an impression. And then there was the spicy scallop roll: oddly slimy, with an off-putting texture that made it hard to finish. The scallops didn’t taste spoiled, but they didn’t taste especially fresh either, and the heat of the spice couldn’t mask that fact. In a region where expectations are high and culinary competition is fierce, Eiko’s didn’t rise to the occasion. There are better places in Napa to spend your appetite—and your money.
