   My family has been celebrating birthdays for years at John Elway's Cherry Creek location with exceptional results for food quality and service. Our last visit to the Cherry Creek location was August 2024 prior to their closing at the end of August. I made a reservation at Elway's downtown location to celebrate my birthday in November since the Cherry Creek location had closed. Sadly our experience did not live up to our expectations. We were seated early for our 6:15 reservation and the greeting staff were friendly and professional, but it went downhill after that. Drinks were served promptly, but the waiter had to be reminded about the request for more sweetener. Service was far slower than any we ever experienced at Elway's at Cherry Creek. All 4 members of the party ordered steaks, 3 members ordered baked potatoes. One member of my party inquired if there was a problem why the food was taking so long. The waiter's reply was not pleasant. When the food finally arrived all steaks were under cooked, mine severely and 2 were greatly over charred on the outside. All steaks were only warm not hot as we had experienced at Elway's in Cherry Creek. All baked potatoes were only slightly warm not hot although they were tasty. I would classify the steaks as really good, but not up to Elway's standards and our expectations. With our experience with Elway's over the years we certainly plan to continue dining there. I certainly do hope the Cherry Creek location reopens in the future. That location certainly is much more convenient for us especially considering my age of 81 and curtailed driving and that both myself and my wife are handicapped. Fortunately for us one of my sons was able to drive for us to the downtown location. None of my party had a dessert. I do appreciate the birthday card that was signed by all the staff.

   40 minutes after reservation to get food. Made us late for the Symphony. Charged full price for a stake I could not entirely eat, because it was GROSSLY under-cooked. Tried to make it up with a crappy desert. Where TF are your table cloths? who the hell is running this diner now? I've been a long time patron, and I will never return to a stake house that does not have table cloths. Seem like they had more then a remodel, and they couldn't cook a leather shoe. I really couldn't have been more disappointed in a has-been washed-up shell of what Elway's was only a few month ago.

   It was our first time going to Elway’s. The valet staff at the Ritz Carlton were very accommodating and helpful. We had wonderful service at the restaurant and our food was delicious. The lamb fondue was delectable and the desserts were devine. We went for our anniversary and they gave us a card, a free dessert, and a small container of steak seasoning.

   We LOVE Elway's and have dined there on several occasions in the past 12 months. When we've visited as a couple or with another couple, the service has always been spot on. We've felt taken care of and treated well, according to the price we've paid. Unfortunately, we had high expectations for this visit when bringing our family and friends (total of 8) for dinner prior to seeing Hamilton! at DCPA and the mark was missed. This was supposed to be a surprise Christmas gift from us and we were totally disappointed. The service was just completely off and we can't help but wonder if the server knew she was getting 20% regardless of her performance due to the table size and just did the bare minimum.

   Came here to celebrate my friend’s bday. The staff was warm and attentive and Alex went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time!!

    This is, to a degree, an expense-account type of place but that's not a bad thing. You do get what you pay for, in quality, plating and taste and with that in mind, very good value-for-money. Very good service. Sitting in the back room, away from the wall-of-wine in the photos, it is, basically, a meeting room used for dining. Very plain, not really fitting for an upscale steakhouse. At the very least, a fireplace (electric, fake flame type) would add some ambience befitting the price-points. All food items were prepared perfectly with great flavor and included valet parking, downtown, is a plus especially if going to DCPA for an event.
