   5 Stars - Unforgettable Anniversary Experience at Elway's Downtown Denver! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Elway’s in Downtown Denver, and it was an experience we will never forget! We chose to sit in the lounge, which had a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe—perfect for an intimate celebration. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism, but it was Chris, the hostess, who truly made our evening unforgettable. Chris’s hospitality and knowledge were exceptional. She greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel like valued guests from the very start. Throughout the evening, she checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and offered thoughtful recommendations that made our meal even more special. Her suggestion of the Chilean Sea Bass was spot on—it was tender, flaky, and full of flavor, truly one of the best dishes we’ve ever had. While our server, Stacie, was attentive and efficient, it was Chris’s expertise and personal care that truly elevated our experience. She made sure that every detail of our anniversary celebration was perfect, offering a level of service that felt both professional and personal. Whether it was offering wine pairing to her amazing cocktail suggestions, or making us feel like we were the most important people in the room, Chris’s warm, thoughtful hospitality was a true highlight of the evening.    Tonight was probably the least attentive service we've ever received. Our drinks took too long to fill, the order of service was not normal as our bread for the table had to be requested. The last course took entirely too long to be offered. And the bill took too long to be provided. I don't know if our server has too many tables but we've been coming to Elways since our son begged us to for his 14th birthday. He's now 21 going on 22. It has always been a location of celebration. Tonight it was more of a disappointing event.

   So VERY disappointing! No where near worth what we paid for this dining experience! Old-fashioned cocktail was not very good, steaks were undercooked as well as the baked potatoes. We sent the first potatoes back; yep, second ones were not completely cooked either. The manager brought the second ones to our table, commenting that these were hot “because I just watched them come out of the oven “. The problem was not that they weren’t hot; they were not completely cooked! No apology was offered for the inconvenience of having to send food back. In all honesty, the steaks should have been sent back as well. We did not completely eat either of the entrees. We were there for en early evening reservation and had requested a somewhat quiet booth if possible; we were seated in a booth adjacent to the high traffic area. There were plenty of other booths available in the less busy dining area. I gave two stars because at least our server was nice and the salads were decent.

   Unfortunately the special Christmas dinner was not great. For the price of $145 per person, it wasn't anywhere near worth it, and the food quality was very disappointing.

   We had a wonderful first time experience. Our waiter did a fabulous job. Our food was delicious we had the twin lobster tails and ribeye. Our appetizer was ok - we had the calamari (it was quite tough) other than that it was good. Overall a fabulous dinner.

   Thank you for the opportunity to write a review for ELWAYS Downtown. Dining there for the first time on Christmas day was an absolute pleasure! Our meals were second to none, and the staff was professional, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and dedicated to providing top-notch guest services.     We were pleasantly surprised to find that we had access to both the dinner menu and the special Christmas menu. The servers were very considerate and attentive and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.
