Evangeline is the casual bistro for which Napa Valley has been waiting: a destination with garden patio dining and world-class food, drink, and service.

Classic bistro items such as raw oysters, croque madame, smoked salmon, and steak frites--each of them in the most flavorful form you've ever seen or tasted. Daily specials like shrimp etouffee, gumbo ya-ya, and fried chicken offer glimpses into the Chef's French and Creole repertoire.

An extensive array of wines by the glass is anchored by our draft wine system, which serves perfect pours on exclusive wines seldom offered except by the bottle. Our local beers and liquors will get your toe tapping at the comfortable, chic bar.

The jewel of Evangeline is the trellised outdoor patio, with heaters and fans for outdoor dining in all but the most forbidding weather. Dappled sunlight and lively music make it a Napa Valley idyll worth the drive up-valley. Free parking abounds across the street.

Great food and service. Their fried chicken is fantastic! Generous wine pouring and the staff was knowledgeable about the wine selection. We will definitely make this a regular dinner spot when we’re in Calistoga.

It was very busy when we arrived. We were seated quickly in their spacious outdoor patio. Wendy our server was attentive and we were very well taken care of. The amazing Bouillabaisse was excellent! Our table had the Branzino, the Short Ribs and Pasta fruites de mer. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Will be going back and encourage you to check it out.

Gumbo had almost only sausage and not much else. Crabcakes were way overpriced for what we received. The biggest upset was when the waiter gave me a really cheap pen that was broken and leaked ink all over my hands and credit card. I’m not too fussy, but it was really offputting. We had informed them. It was my wife’s birthday and not even a scoop of ice cream showed up or any acknowledgment. There was no gesture of support with the ink leaking all over me.

Wonderful gumbo and fried chicken. A great version of French onion soup. Caramel pot du creme was just perfect, not too sweet.
