This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. Reservations for the dining room and the bar are recommended and may be made up to 61 days in advance. Open daily for dinner, a reservationist is available during the day to take reservations by phone.

All reservations are for Fat Canary. Downstairs at Fat Canary is no reservations and is a same day, in-person check-in for our waitlist.

    No wonder it’s so hard to get a table. The service, food and cocktails were all excellent. Highly recommend for a date night or adult dinner with friends.

    We had a wonderful evening tonight. Sylvia was amazing in the service. We are looking for her to do great successes in finance when she graduates this spring!  The food was as always great! You cannot go wrong with the Fat Canary!!

    We’ve never had a disappointing meal at the Fat Canary. We were hoping for a halibut special and were fortunate to experience a delicious variation with risotto.

    My first time at Fat Canary was awesome. My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary, and that was the perfect place to celebrate. The service was amazing and the food was phenomenal. 10/10 recommend!

    Both entrees (scallops and Atlantic salmon)were delicious and very well constructed. Waitress (Cat?) was excellent. Only downside was a group of 4 at the table next to us who were very loud and obnoxious. One of the big mouths was also drenched in a very strong and prominent perfume. We are looking forward to a return soon.
