- JJanetAdelaide •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoWe decided on two larger courses, the beef cheeks and the cassoulet. The beef cheeks were tender and slightly caramelised and accompanied by a potato puree and baby roasted carrots. The bourguignon sauce was sumptuous. Delicious comfort food in every sense of the word. The cassoulet was also a winner, a crispy, succulent duck leg on a bed of tender haricot beans flavoured with ham, pork sausage and thyme. We enjoyed the tasty garden salad and French fries with this. Both courses were very generous. Two of my friends couldn't eat it all. My piece de resistance was the colourful and delicately constructed dessert. Pistachio flavoured custard was sandwiched between puff pastry slices with raspberries. Gorgeous to look at, easy to eat and not overly sweet. The passionfruit souffle was also a triumph, warm and luscious. The wine list was good, local and French wines were available. We drank a dry, creamy Fumey-Chatelain Cremant du Jura Blanc which was not sweet enough for one of my friends. Hover I enjoyed it with the my main course. The coffee was excellent.More infoBistro FrancaisPrice: Moderate• French• Hyde Park•4.7
