Nino's, opened in 1968, has been owned and operated by Antonio Noviello since 1982. Originally from the Amalfi Coast of southern Italy, Antonio worked in Monte Carlo, then Bermuda where he met his wife Helen, an Atlanta resident. After moving to Atlanta in 1981, Antonio's life-long dream of owning his own restaurant became a reality when he purchased Nino's. For more than forty-one years, Antonio has taken pride in serving authentic Italian Cuisine made with fresh, imported ingredients and cooked to order for each guest. In 2006 Antonio's middle daughter Alessandra became the manager and has since taken over with her husband Micah. Alessandra and Micah take pride in keeping the long-standing traditions and reputation of serving exceptional Italian cuisine alive. Nino's has attracted devoted locals who return time and again, along with a long list of who had heard of Nino's reputation and stopped in to sample the fare. Many of the dishes on Nino's menu are original recipes brought from Italy by Antonio and his brother Giuseppe. Antonio's favorite dishes are those named after his daughters, Gabriella, Alessandra, and Michela; his wife Elena (Helen); his brother Giuseppe; his brother-in-law Paola, and himself and the grandchildren. The pasta dish which bears the name of Nino's is a recipe from Mama Noviello. First visit to Bistro Nico. I’m a business traveller so usually sit at the bar, which I did here too. Service was a bit rushed, but you’re competing for the bartenders’ attention so it’s almost to be expected. Had the duck confit appetizer and the pork chop entree. Both were to die for. I’m already thinking about my next trip to Atlanta so I can have that again. Food came out quickly too, which is nice. Ambiance was good, Christmas decor is over the top, but not in a bad way. Do the valet parking, it’s much cheaper than self parking. Restaurant is well worth a visit.

Had the toro tuna flight, delicious. The salmon skin salad, crispy strips of the skin atop iceberg, very nice. The monkfish liver salad was tantalizing , medallions of monkfish liver on cucumber slices with a tangy ponzu sauce. The server was polite, professional, there when needed him.

Except for valet (upon arrival, he just looked at us, zero greeting or communication...), our experience was excellent all around. Caviar service, veal mousse, carpaccio, gnocchi, lobster pasta, clam pasta, and halibut. Clam pasta was just okay. Everything else was perfect. Thank you, La Grotta.
