Gloria Gati is the new restaurant of chef George Papakostas who jokingly refers to Gloria as the older sister of Vittoria Gati, another famous restaurant of his in Glyfada. Gloria is located in a historic building in the Athens center just 50 meters from Syntagma square. It is defined by an eclectic vintage design in a very cosy space where the pizza oven takes center stage. The bar serves award winning cocktails and over 100 wines from Greece and around the globe. The menu is Italian with a focus on homemade pasta and quality meats. The pizza is made from a 1937 sourdough and baked in a traditional oven imported from Naples. Some of the signature dishes include the steak tartare, arancini bolognese, the raviolo cacio pepe, the reginette al tartufo for truffle lovers as well as pollo francese and the ossobuco which is cooked for 12 hours. The people at OpenTable are lovely as is the ambience. My friend recommended this restaurant because her family toured Athens 10 or more years ago and her son still talks about the fish he ate here. I, of course, had to have that fish and know I’ll talk about it for 10+ years too! My children also enjoyed the grilled shrimp and moussaka! When you’re in Athens, Greece, don’t miss this place!

this was the perfect choice for us. It was beautifully decorated well attended limited number of people highly recommend reservations for any encounter, and the chef was unbelievably attentive and exactly what one would want for a Christmas Eve dinner

Excellent food choices. Excellent and very very kind service. However, one of the young guys wearing totally unproper and old sport shoes. Not correct for a such a place. Wonderful view but in chilly nights it is not warm enough and the windows have small gaps from which the air is chilling. Need better isolation.

The ambiance is loosely Thai themed & the restaurant is relatively comfortable. Ideally I would want more comfort & a more traditional Thai feel but most importantly the place is clean. The portions are above average size & the food is good. There is a variety of menu options. Maybe it could be a bit fresher but it came out quickly which is good because we were hungry. The staff are extremely friendly & attentive. The service is very good. Also, important to my family, they spoke English fluently.
