Welcome to Masa & Agave, a speakeasy-style cantina hidden below stairs at the historic Hotel Ivy in Downtown Minneapolis. On Thursday's, Friday's and Saturday's from 8pm to Close we are first-come, first-served and do not accept reservations during this time.Worshipped as the Aztec gods of fertility and long life, venerated for their powers of sustenance, corn masa and agave have been central to Mexican culture and cuisine since ancient times.     801 is a must when I visit Minneapolis. The food and service are always top notch. And Patrick did an excellent job navigating a unique situation. Two in our party were very delayed. I ordered for them, and our meals arrived soon after the rest of our party. The service was very efficient without feeling rushed. Another great experience.

    This was our first time at this restaurant, which was suggested by our adult son to celebrate his birthday. It was outstanding! The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. Our server make excellent alternative suggestions to help with a food sensitivity. It was not inexpensive - we did the course menu experience & added 2 bottles of flavored sake - but worth it for the celebratory experience. I would definitely recommend and would be happy to stop in & sit at the bar and enjoy just the Beef Sukiyaki Bibimbap! It was a favorite of everyone at the table.

    Pimento Kitchen in Minneapolis is a must-try! I had the chicken curry, and the spice level was just right—full of flavor with the perfect kick. Loved the reggae music playing in the next room, which created a great atmosphere. It was my first visit, thanks to a friend's recommendation, and it won’t be my last.
