Best Authentic Restaurants in Donelson

This was a place we can’t wait to bring friends and family! There wasn’t a dish we didn’t enjoy. Of course they are known for their quesabirria, which remains consistent from their food truck dish of the same name, so it is a must. The flautas give you that satisfying crunch with each bite and they’re dressed to give you an extra kick of flavor. There’s a variety of tacos, and I must say the real star there is the tortilla! We topped everything off with the Tres Leches Cake which was everything you didn’t know you needed in a cake. We opted for the chef’s counter which offered its own series of surprises that also made their mission of community really come through!

Frankie’s is so great. The food is fantastic. The cocktails are delicious. The pizza next door is the best in Nashville. And drum roll please….the prunes and mascarpone dessert is my favorite dessert of all time! Mic drop!

So glad that we finally tried this place. After a lot of "meh" meals in Nashville over the past 5 or so years (soooo many steak houses doing the same thing), it was refreshing to see a place getting it right. For us, this is exactly what dining should be: personable and fun with well executed food and good pricing. I wouldn't call it cheap, but you get what you pay for, which is all anyone should expect. They aren't trying to be gimmicky or too hip. They are just doing what they do well. This is in our rotation now, along with Lyra, Yolan, Carne Mare and Bella Napoli...all places that do what they do extremely well without trying to be everything to everyone.

Our experience was deeelightfullll! From our server Paige, to the fantastic food (the chicken confit and meatloaf) the killer drinks (Jane’s old fashioned) and the music! We loved every bit of this evening!❤️💚🌲 Don’t miss out!

What an amazing experience! This was our first time at the Authentique and we will definitely be back! The food was delicious, genuine French cuisine. They had the best crepes I’ve had in years! The wine selection was great and the service was friendly. I highly recommend this place, they even had live jazz music! A tout a l’heure, Authentique!
