Reviewers highlight its 'excellent food,' 'old world charm,' and 'beautiful ambiance.' One reviewer mentioned its 'traditional' experience, while another praised the 'terrific food' and 'iconic setting.' La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversize iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The 250-bottle wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

Outstanding pan-Asian delicacies in a cool, night-club-like environment. Background music was not loud so that you can have a conversation with your friends/family. Everything we ordered, from the appetizers, entrees, sushi, and desserts, was amazing. Servers were friendly and attentive. Very happy that this Tao (Uptown) is still here and doing well. Definitely will repeat here for sure! :-)

Andrea was our waiter and she was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I did a flight of their vodkas- very nice experience. I would recommend the Jewel of Russia. We had the stroganoff, duck and sea bass. It was all wonderful but the duck was over the top!! Dessert wise- very disappointed in the Baked Alaska but the blintzes did not disappoint. Abbey, manager made us feel very welcome and valued. Highly recommend!!

First time here in many years and it did not disappoint. We had a delicious meal & several appetizers before. The service was great-very attentive. The pasta dish was amazing as was the shrimp & grits. My son seemed pleased with the salmon jerk bowl, too. The live music was an added pleasure as the female singer & band members were very talented! I would highly recommend!

This is my go to place whenever I am in town. The ambience is warm, cozy and charming. The food is amazing and the service is excellent, always. The manager, who is incredibly knowledgeable about wines, makes each diner feel welcome and at home. This special touch is a rarity in New York! Make a reservation days in advance, walk-ins impossible. I’ve tried.

Absolutely LOVED our first time at Carmines! From the service to the food everything was spectacular. It felt like we were part of the family and not only did Sarah, our sever, make sure we were well taken care of but everyone else who took our plates or tidied our table was so attentive and friendly. Definitely one of those core memory experiences. 10/10 Carmines…we will see you again :)
