Best Authentic Restaurants in Solana Beach

Always excellent in every way. Our server, Chris, just perfect. This is the third time in a row we have had Chris as our server. Wish there were more like him!!

It’s important to know that it’s Oaxacan cuisine. It’s different from SoCal traditional Mexican food (which I also love). Everything was excellent and yummy! I had the Agua Santa cocktail- OMG! I ate the tacos de birria - you could choose lamb or beef- and I chose the beef. So flavorful on blue corn tortillas and the beef melted in my mouth! You have to get the table side guacamole made to your liking in front of you! My husband and friends got different moles - all outstanding! We all were getting full and couldn’t stop eating! Even the “smashed” black beans were amazing! Can’t wait to come back! Cool, artsy decor, the owner stops by to check on you - this place has it ALL!

My kids said it was the best all around in a long time!! The wagyu was exceptionally phenomenal!

There were 6 of us and our service was impeccable. We ordered several tacos and ceviches, plus patatas bravas, elote, and beans. We had a few cocktails and a couple of mocktails. We finished up with churros. Every single thing was delicious! We will definitely be back

It can get busy, best way to make sure you get a table is to make a reservation. Ordered a few things to try, Lomo Saltado, Macho, Beet Salad and a Ceviche Mixto. The ceviche was great probably a tad bit more salt and it would've been perfect Beet salad... Beets.. The Lomo was a tad salty for me but the meat was very tender and a good size portion of food. Macho was my favorite a good variety of seafood and lots of flavor.
