Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

Our appetizer was a special and was delicious. We ordered the lamb and the duck. Both were good but smaller portions than we have had other places The sauce on the duck was one of the best we have had. . Our server was ok, not very attentive he never came over to table other than to take our order, and ask if we wanted dessert. We noticed he went over to other tables around us asking if everything was to their liking. The ambiance was exceptional very lovely. It was a bit cold that evening and there was a definite draft sitting next to the tent wall. It was our first time there and we will definitely give it another try and maybe try something else on the menu. We would give the whole experience a 4 out of 5 stars.

What a beautiful, festive setting. Lily, our server, was a delight. The menu is creative and extensive. The beet salad was delicious with thinly sliced beets and radishes over arugula. Light, tasty dressing. The filet as cooked perfectly. It was tender and delicious. The meatloaf is a signature dish and it did not disappoint. Panna cotta for desert was yummy. Can’t say enough about this restaurant. Perfect!!
