Basalt serves consistently good food. Service is excellent, especially from their culturally respectful local staff. It's a great hidden gem, even though it's in Waikiki.

Immediately Greeted by the host upon arrival check in. Megan K was our server! Mahalo for a great dinning experience. Megan was a pleasant and professional server with an amazing personality. We felt welcomed and valued. I would ask to be seated in her section. She had our drinks on time throughout the dinner. Steak cooked to perfection. Temperature and food presentation was excellent. Restaurant is clean and has a Great ambience & lighting. Highly recommend the Chocolate Chip Cowboy cookie! Freshly baked! Yummmmm!! 10/10! Booth sizes are a plus! Perfect fit. Awesome family atmosphere Will be dinning again very soon. Greeted and thanked upon exit.

The cuisine was delicious and flavorful. Our server Jessica was very pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately my glass of Failla Pinot Noir was served directly from the refrigerator. But, it was corrected.

In Hawaii, I think it's not just the scenery, such as being near the ocean or being able to watch the sunset, but also the atmosphere and delicious food.
