Tex-Mex cuisine began in the Rio Grande Valley before migrating up to San Antonio during the l860's where a group of women known as The Chili Queens' began to pop up in the city's plazas selling chili con carne with tamales, enchiladas, and chili verde. They incorporated cumin into their dishes favored by settlers from theCanary lslands, which still has a strong influence on Mexican food in Texas. Service (Crystal) was excellent and her recommendations were delicious. It got a little loud by the time we left at 7:45 but since we usually dine on the earlier side it will not deter us from going back. So many choices that we might make it a monthly event!

This is such a fantastic restaurant! Our adult kids love it when we treat them to the Jackalope experience. The dishes are always incredible, brisket, smoked meats, and their drink menu is equally as stellar. My husband and I tried brunch last week and were as impressed. If you have t been yet, go!
