Best Casual Restaurants in Leather District

The restaurant provides superb customer service. Guillermo at the bar was extremely attentive. We ordered the EXPRESSO MARTINI, and we had the BEST EXPRESSO MARTINI ever! The food was to die for. We ordered the pene, lasagna, tortellini and WOW, the flavors, presentation, and how the server entered to the table ON POINT. The restaurant is always busy and small, so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to make a reservation. The team at the front desk should be more "happy" about the fact that the restaurant is always busy, that means they are going to have a job for sure :), as they showed that we're overwhelm with the amount of people. SUGGESTION FOR THE LEADERSHIP A training on how to deal with customers during difficult and busy times will help tremendously. I was extremely kind and patient with the young gentlemen and female at the front desk when I asked about my reservation and their body language and answers were abrupt as the line was long, the restaurant was busy, and many others were asking the same question. We've been here a few times and every time has been an outstanding experience. The ingredients are always of good quality. My favorite broth is their Guizhou Red Suantang. This fermented tomato-based broth has plentiful aromatic Chinese herbs and is a stand-out broth for its tangy and complex flavor that you won't forget! I wish I could bottle it and take it home! I've also tried their black bone chicken broth and classic mala, both are good "old reliables" - the classic mala gets hotter the longer it's been cooking! Each time we've been the service has been attentive without being smothering, all the vegetables are fresh, fresh, fresh! The housemade shrimp paste is wonderful, and the spicy dumplings are some of the best I've had anywhere. I love that you can get a great variety of mushrooms with their platters, their black fungus never disappoints, always big, plump, and succulent! Don't sleep on the fish roe salad balls, they are DELICIOUS, but be careful not to cook them too long or the liquid center becomes molten hot. Highly recommend making reservations, it gets BUSY here and for good reason!

The dining experience was amazing. All of the Staff’s recommendations were perfection. The French Onion Dumplings and Broiled Clams were delicious as was the all of our entrees. Too full to finish, but we did because it was so good!

Very good experience - delicious food, somewhat pricey, but the rotisserie chicken, including in the soup, was extraordinary. The soup should be available in a bowl, not just a cup! Energetic vibe, beautiful decor, but there should be additional large tables (not high tops) available for business lunches. Overall the space is relatively small, so table placement is key and there are more "common" high tops than standard tables - great for drinks and casual lunches, but not necessarily business dining.

Everything we ordered was fantastic, from the appetizers to the drinks to the entrees. As a bread roll enthusiast, I have to give a shout-out to the best rolls I think I've ever had. Seriously folks, I'd come back here again just to have the bread rolls - they really were that good. Come here to have a great time, feel like a million bucks, and eat some exquisite food.
