Best Casual Restaurants in McKinney

This is a lovely upper scale Italian restaurant. We had Brooke as our waitress and she was fabulous. She was helpful with my food limitations and my orders came out correctly. My friend and I had the following items: polenta appetizer, Caesar salad, salmon, lava cake, and crème brûlée. The only thing that wasn’t just out of this world good was the broccolini. It was a little tough, but the salmon was fabulous. The appetizer with polenta and Gorgonzola cream sauce is naughty good. We have always had good experiences here,so it is our go to place for an upscale dinner. I find it’s easier to find a parking place if you go early.

The food was great, Dimitri was an amazing server and very attentive. The only downfall was the intense smell of cigarette smoke at the host check in room, it was overwhelming, but once we made it into the restaurant it was gone. Other than that, we had a wonderful dinner!

We were visiting family in Dallas and found this hidden neighborhood gem in Allen. The place is beautifully done. The menu is very good and everything we had was delicious. You must try the hush puppies. They are scrumptious. Bring the family, the kids they will love it. Wish we had one in NJ.

The menu is that of their awesome Plano location by the same name in Lakeside Market off of Preston and the food tastes exactly the same and it is really, really good. They do delivery, carry out and in-restaurant dining. The food is better than any other Chinese restaurant in our area, so I'm incredibly happy for them to be so close to my home. My favorites are the Hot and Sour Soup Shanghai dumplings, Pan seared duck breast with pancakes. But everything I have ever eaten at the original location has been absolutely great, fresh and tasty! To be fair they had only been open 3 days when we went and it looks to me like they are in the end-stages of remodeling from the previous Chinese restaurant that was in this location and the tables, that apparently came from the previous restaurant are shabby. I would recommend using tablecloths to hide that unless and until new tables have been ordered and arrive. There is some new lighting which could benefit from a dimmer. And, they have applied for but not yet received their liquor license - the original restaurant is known for their excellent cocktails, so looking forward to that coming in the future. Highly recommended!

We went on Thanksgiving. The special menu was perfect and the food was delicious. Staff were friendly. When we ordered wine she had us taste it first. So glad as I selected a different one than my first choice. Highly recommend CRU Food and Wine Bar. Looking forward to going back and trying their wine flights.
