Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea.     My mates and I had a great time. It can get a bit stressful as you only have 60 minutes to order and get as much food as you want. Then you have an extra 30 mins to finish and cook the rest of your food. Between the 5 of us we had one grill so we felt the time pressure. However, the ambiance and quality of the food was fantastic for the standard package. You also don’t walk out smelling like charcoaled meats! My friends and I will definitely come back.

    Outstanding food quality and service. We went for the Gold Package and loved every single dish, especially the beef and ox thong. It was our 6th anniversary, and they were very kind, including a small decoration with a Christmas light of "Happy Anniversary", which was the cherry on the cake. 1000% recommended, and we look forward to trying the Ramen the next time

    Lovely atmosphere and food, staff were attentive, helpful, polite and friendly. Desserts were rather overpriced compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, highly recommend and will definitely be returning. 😍
