Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Calistoga

The cocktails, food , and ambience were excellent. The service was pleasant and thoughtful . But one wonders if the restaurant is slightly understaffed , as the waiter disappeared several times , and had to be flagged-down to request bread to accompany the delicious mussels, order a glass of wine to accompany the perfectly cooked scallops and duck confit , etc.

From the second we we arrived at this charming local restaurant we were completely taken care of. The service was spectacular, but the food is the main attraction. We had the Mushroom Polenta Bites, Risotto with Prawns, Beef Cheeks, and the Hot Mess for dessert. They were all amazing, especially the Beef Cheek. Make sure you order the Sourdough Bread with the Kale Pistachio Pesto Butter and Black Sea Salt. We had two orders. I woke up this morning craving that bread.

Always amazing. Great service, delicious food. The kids menu is cute.

The food over all was great. This time I tried the Terri's Favorite which I thought wasn't as good as everything else. It came off as dry, maybe it needed a sauce or something. My parents shared the fish platter and absolutely enjoyed it!

We visited Evangeline for brunch on a Sunday morning. The croque madame was delicious, the bread pudding was moist and without raisins, the coffee was hot and fresh and the fritto misto was tender, crispy and yummy. I was really surprised that we were the only ones there as I thought it was fabulous.
