Carmella’s Plates & Pints is the first restaurant for co-owners, Carmella Salem and Michael Alberter. Our kitchen creates upscale comfort cuisine. Our dining room has a warm and cozy feel due to the wood- beamed cathedral ceiling, open fireplace, taxidermy and stained glass windows that adorn the dining room. Our guests feel as though they are tucked away at some destination lodge that exists in the heart of the Historic Southside. Local meats are delivered daily with Wild Game plates on the menu such as our staple plates like the Bison Burger and Smoked Wild Boar Meatballs. We do have an intimate 60 seat dining room and ask that guests please call us for parties of 6 or more to make a reservation. Our expansive Whiskey Bar boasts over 500 Selections. Enjoy 11 Wines on Tap / 27 Craft beers on Tap / 11 Cocktails on Tap.

We are a modern restaurant housed in an automotive garage that dates back to the 1940s. During the pre-interstate period of America, people and families often traveled across storied highways such as Route 40, Lincoln Highway or Route 66, encountering regional foods and a variety of cultural influences along the way.In that spirit, our seasonal menu will be a ‘road trip’ that explores some of those mid-western, southern, south-western, and western dishes and techniques. Just like a garage, we will tinker with and adjust them to put together something that will make your trip to see us memorable.

Huszar is a charming, family-owned restaurant and tavern featuring homemade Hungarian Old-World Cuisine, specialty craft beer selections, exclusive wine imports, and a full bar."With Huszár, we reach back to our roots. My mom would often tell stories of her family life in Hungary, and my dad would often reflect upon his military service there that he was so proud of. However, it was the stories of my grandfather being a proud Huszár, handpicked to serve as an elite soldier on horseback, that I draw my inspiration from. Their stories instilled me with a deep pride in my heritage."Here are our hours of operation:Tuesdays - Saturdays 12pm - 8pmSundays - 12pm to 7pm

The food was very good with large portions. We had a variety of menu choices and we were all pleased. I think charging 10 bucks for bread and butter with a meal for a party of five was a bit much given the prices for entrees.

My wife and I had our pre-pens game meal at Fig and Ash and they provided a top tier dining experience. From the server to the food presentation, we were very impressed. We also thought the menu was fairly priced for the service and food provided. We highly recommend this restaurant as one of Pittsburgh’s best. Cheers!

The menu is quite limited, but possibly that is why what they serve is very good. The beet salad was exceptional, our entrees were quite good and the chocolate ganache was great. Wide selections of beer and wine. Service was great. Only suggestion - which is minor was both my husband and I had entrees with a sauce at the bottom of the chicken and salmon - both sauces were a little cold. Maybe it was plated before the meat and fish were done or maybe cool bowls??
