Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation; first as a respite for stagecoach travelers expanding westward and later as a covert rendezvous point for George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, and other leaders of the American revolution. It is believed that during the infamous winter of 1777–1778 at Valley Forge, a major figure in the Continental Army, master military mind Friedrich Von Steuben, designated the tavern as a secret black powder munitions stash for Continental Army couriers. All the while, the tavern continued to provide food, shelter and cheer to the hungry, weary soldiers fighting for their independence. Today, we honor our historic tavern’s tradition with a mission to raise the spirits of our guests.     We enjoyed our lunch very much. We didn’t realize that they were serving brunch only until our server informed us, but there was a nice selection to choose from. Our server was great! She didn’t rush us, but did remind us when it was getting close to the buffet shutting down. She also kept our coffee and tea cups filled.

    There were 8 people for lunch, we were seated at a round table, so conversation was all conclusive, being able to talk and see each other was a huge advantage. Food was delicious. Our waitstaff was very good. Helpful explaining the menu for us. We were celebrating a 40Th and 50th birthdays. They were given a special birthday treat. So thanks for a lovely meal with you today.     Again, another wonderful experience at Rosalie. The food was excellent. The breakfast pizza, french toast, and potatoes were the perfect brunch combo. Fantastic service and the cherry on top was the birthday ice cream cup for my wife. At least two employees said happy birthday to her, which was also a small but thoughtful gesture. We will most certainly be back at Rosalie!
