- NNicoleChicago / Illinois •11 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoVisited for Christmas Eve brunch and was not disappointed. Ordered jerk catfish and eggs. It was delicious as usual, eggs were nice and fluffy. Waffles and Bottomless mimosas made it a perfect meal. Highly recommend.More info14 Parish Restaurant & Rhum BarPrice: Expensive• Caribbean• Hyde Park•4.7
- OTOpenTable DinerChicago / Illinois •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoIt’s difficult to point out what I loved more. So I’ll start with our server Greer. She knew the menu, knowledgeable of the ingredients in both the drinks and food. The drinks were well mixed so neither ingredient or Mezcal overwhelmed the drinks. The bartenders here are masters of their craft. From what I read Cantina Rosa’s focus is the variety of Tequilas and Mezcal but I have to say the food menu is just as impressive. Mind you it’s not a typical Mexican restaurant with a food menu pages long. They have about a dozen plates (Tapas Style) and we ordered 6 plates to share for 2 people. The Camarones A La Plancha were tastefully made. The spices used did not overwhelm with heat. The Barbacoa was tasty and not typically greasy. The rice tasted like my moms rice. The Ceviche was fantastic. The Tamale Oaxaqueño was perfectly made. Keep in mind in Oaxaca the Tamales are more tender than the typical Northern style Mexican Tamales which are firmer. Over all as a Mexicano I was thoroughly impressed with the Mezcal drinks we ordered and the food. Other things that stood out. The music selection was a pleasant surprise. The majority was traditional Mexican but it doesn’t overwhelm with only one genre. They covered traditional and New Mexican music but also mixed in tradicional Salsa music. While not of Mexican origin the Salsa music was much appreciated by this Salsero. This placed is not loud, you can actually hear the person across the table from you. The decore was a pleasant surprise as it’s not typical Mexican but has a modern comfortable artistic flare. Last thing to note, there’s a 90minute table time and while that’s more than enough time to order 4 drinks and 6 plates. The downside is that my girlfriend and I were loving this place so much we did not want to leave. We will definitely visit again and will bring the rest of the Latino pose 🙌#needsadancefloor for the trifectaMore infoCantina RosaPrice: Expensive• Mexican• Hyde Park•4.8

- KKenVIPChicago / Illinois •39 reviews4.0Dined on Dec 15, 2024Service was good this time. They need consistency. Never know what you’re going to get. Food was very good. Cornbread needs work and the short ribs were less than lukewarm warm. Probably sitting waiting on fried chicken as that was piping hot.More infoJordyn’s Soul Cafe - Hyde ParkPrice: Moderate• Soul food• Hyde Park•3.9
