We get excited when it comes to food. Head Chef Joe, and his team, source only the finest local ingredients. Bringing together gastropub classics and a traditional open fireplace – our bistro-bar is the perfect recipe for a satisfying supper. Or join us in our restaurant. Overlooking the beautiful garden, it’s the ideal place for that special occasion. Our mouth-watering seasonal menus are complimented by a stunning selection of wines. In summer, why not head outdoors for dinner. Sample a bubbling, stone-baked pizza, fresh from our authentic wood fired oven. It’s the kind of food that makes warm evenings magical. Especially served with a locally brewed, ice cold cider. We cater for all, so let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements. If you love food like we do, book now or give us a call.

Firstly, The Anchor Inn is one of my favourite places in the world. I've been returning here for the passed 30 years! This review may sound a little picky that's because it is. These are the only things I can think of that are hopefully constructive. Everything else was super. Just two things that I would like to mention. The music, whilst generally good, it was very repetitive. Same genre and I think the same playlist over the 4 days we visited and perhaps a little too loud. (God, I sound old). I love music and it's great for ambience as background music, but I wasn't there to listen to it, I was there to spend time catching up with friends. Also, the veggie options. The aubergine and hummus baguette. In my opinion, was very bland. It sounded delicious but I was very disappointed. The baguette could've been cooked a little more (very cold and doughy) and perhaps a bit of spice and texture added to the filling. The rest of the food we had over the 4 days was fantastic!

Breaking the journey to London, Holm is great. Easy parking on-street adjacent to the restaurant. Dog friendly too. Deliciously fresh trout tartare then a pappardelle with a perfectly Italian ragu enriched with chicken livers made an ideal mid-week lunch. (Even a table-side water bowl for the dog). Service was fast and we were on the way again in just over an hour.
