Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times.     The refuge is a lovely place to visit- we had the small plates which were ok but not nearly as good as the last time we came. The prawns were mushy and tasteless, the salad nicoise had undercooked potatoes and the chicken was a bit bland and not crispy enough - to be honest, the best thing was the sourdough bread! Such a shame as it was a treat visiting family for a treat.

    Celebrated our son’s 20th birthday dinner. Peter steered us right with every decision around our meal. We shared an 800 porterhouse cooked to perfection. Excellent starters, sides, cocktails and dessert. Incredibly happy with our decision to celebrate. Restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night but service never slipped. A nice vibe, music is a bit on the high side but it doesn’t take away from the experience.

    Jane Eyre never disappoints, each dish is cooked to perfection with incredible flavours. They champion simplicity with underlying complexity. Favourites this time were the beetroot, fish, broccoli and sweetcorn.
