Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.On Wednesday nights in place of our à la carte we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. On Sunday nights the restaurant is closed but we serve a light supper for hotel guests in the Farmhouse.

Food is served from 12 noon each day, all day until late check our operating hours before arrival.Choose from our family dining area, close to our indoor play area or our cliff top restaurant with sea views. Alfresco dining is available with 40 benches overlooking the bay but these are non-reservable and work on a first come first served basis. Please note we can not guarantee window tables. We do not allow dogs inside our venue but they are welcome in our outside dining areas. It was our first experience of dining here, and it certainly won’t be the last, we had a mixed seafood sharing platter and a roast considering there was 4 of us the bill was very reasonable and the I have to say one of the best roast dinners we’ve had. The seafood platter was amazing and could eat that all day long. Highly recommended

Lovely lunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Great food, lovely friendly service. We had the roast dinner (vegan option) and it was so tasty and well cooked. We followed this with desserts - which were also excellent - chocolate genache and Lemon posset. House red (Malbec) was very good according to the drinkers. This is a lovely chilled restaurant serving high quality food and offering great service. We felt welcomed and looked after. We will return.
