- JJohnBristol •20 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe stayed one night and had dinner at Duncombe Arms. The accommodation is really lovely - rooms are so well appointed and very clean. Great walk-in shower and one of the most comfortable beds we have slept on in a hotel / guest house. Lovely views from the room with table and chairs outside for when it's not snowing! The meal was outstanding!! One of the nicest rib-eye steaks I have had for along time. Although the wine list appeared shorter than usual with some crossed off, what I had was very good (lovely Malbec to go with the steak). The breakfast was excellent, as was the service throughout. Will be back for sure.More infoThe Duncombe ArmsPrice: Expensive• British• Ashbourne•4.6

Took the dog, family of 5, kids meal was loved by both kids, we ordered chateaubriand but waitress said cook wasn’t happy with it so after a slight delay they brought out a porterhouse half price along with some free starters. Which were unreal. Such a lovely gesture clearly service of the highest order, everyone happy with the meal, steak seasoned to perfection. Can’t wait to return. Thank you Hawthorn staff.More infoThe HawthornPrice: Very Expensive• Gastro Pub• Keighley•4.9

Food was excellent and really good value for money. The pork loin was cooked to perfection and the black pudding was some of the best I've ever tasted. The potato rosti has gone into the top 3 potato dishes I've ever eaten - absolutely sublime. It was our first time here and it certainly won't be out last - an amazing hidden gem just outside Halifax.More infoShibden Mill InnPrice: Expensive• Gastro Pub• Halifax•4.7
