Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Downtown / LoDo

My wife and I had dinner at Ocean Prime after watching a show downtown. Our reservation was honored promptly and our request for a booth was granted. When making the reservation, we had indicated that we are both gluten free diners - this was confirmed when we were seated and reconfirmed by each member of the wait staff who served us, which we greatly appreciated. We started with the berries and bubbles mocktail, followed by truffle deviled eggs (amazing!) and house salad appetizers. Our main dishes — ribeye with black truffle butter and twin lobster tails with drawn butter — were perfectly cooked and everything you’d expect from an upscale surf and turf dinner. We shared a strawberry shortcake for dessert - as gluten free diners, we didn’t eat the graham cracker crust on the bottom but the cream cheese and strawberry filling was delicious. We appreciated the excellent service from our server Christian - attentive without being intrusive. We were 100% satisfied with both the food and the experience, and look forward to returning to Ocean Prime in the future.

Food and service was outstanding. Steaks cooked perfectly. Wonderful staff from the valet to our waiter and staff. One unpleasant incident was the hostess who took my coat when we were seated. When we were leaving she had mixed up the tickets and we couldn’t locate my coat. When we approached her about this, she explained “I don’t have time for this “. I left without my coat and we asked to please find and we’ll be back after the the play at Elie Caulkins. I had to walk several blocks in just my sweater and pants. Pretty cold brisk walk.

Bravo - A monday evening to celebrate a birthday was magnificent. Drinks, ambience and food in the bar area was top self. Finishing the evening with a birthday plate and card was a pleasant surprise. We’ll be back.

Great selection of fresh seafood. Waitstaff professional and courteous. Had the Branzino and Halbut both outstanding. Great wines by the glass. Cool bar
