Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Mendham

Excellent dinner with a unique menu, warm and friendly atmosphere and a impressive wine list.

The food is always great at Chef Freddy's. For the day after Christmas, we were a party of seven, tasting venison (perfect medium rare), Chilean sea bass, ravioli, salmon, and calamari. Two things stood out: the calamari is supplemented with spicy peppers, giving it a unique taste and the care taken for the seventh member of our party--our 3-year-old granddaughter. She was affectionately welcomed and, when the fancier food lost some of its appeal to her, out came a bowl of vanilla ice cream. She was one happy toddler, singing to anyone who would listen. Very good! Overall great experience, I think they should have more variety of proteins options, especially for the vegetarian entree. The food was delicious. I would imagine it would be better to see the property during the day.

The carbonara is my favorite pasta on the menu it did not disappoint. Had a chicken special which was also good. Regrettably it was really hot upstairs, and they don’t seem to be able to do anything about that. And I mean 79 degrees if the thermostat is to be believed. On a 20 degree night. Seems it is all one zone heat/AC.

Fabulous service throughout the evening. The bartender was professional and engaging. Angela served cocktails that were made to perfection. Dinner was just as perfect. Roberto was the consummate professional as well. He was attentive to our needs but never on top of us. Our dinner as well as the wine was outstanding. Truly a great experience throughout the entire evening.
