- TTerryVIPOttawa •25 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoThis is a modern Chinese restaurant -upscale, lively and fun! The servers were excellent, explaining how the menu worked and recommending quantities o food for the 2 of us. The food was traditional with a delicious modern spin: BBQ pork with a drizzle of honey, stir fried. green with a drizzle of chilli oil. The open kitchen is always a plus, and the only criticism we had was that it was difficult to eat the food over rice from the large bowls provided - chopsticks are made for small bowls. This place is definitely worth a visit when in Toronto!More infoMIMI ChinesePrice: Very Expensive• Chinese• The Annex•4.4
- GBGailBToronto / Ontario •2 reviews4.0Dined on Dec 10, 2024Enjoyed the tasting menu food at Enigma. Some courses were excellent. The salmon, foie gras, scallop and Wagyu beef courses were outstanding. Others were OK. The miss was the lobster dish which lacked any lobster flavour. The wines offered in the wine pairing were OK, but not impressive. Two sakes, and a rather tasteless white Japanese wine, were excessive for a 10 course meal that was not billed as Japanese. The service was attentive, but seemed rushed, even though the room was half empty on a rainy Tuesday evening. Very annoying, the staff kept trying to remove our wine glasses before they were empty, sometimes without asking. Most of the staff described the dishes so quickly that we certainly missed some of their descriptions. Overall, I would say the value for money was average. My acid test of a restaurant is the answer to this question: Would I dine their again? In this case, the answer is no.More infoEnigma YorkvillePrice: Very Expensive• International• Yorkville•4.8
