Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old brothel, we take the best meat in the country from the award winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell).     A truly five star experience! Staff were flawless, the afternoon tea was a delight; the sandwiches and pastries were very good. We didn’t realise one could ask for more sandwiches, otherwise we would have attended with more of an appetite! Coffee (decaf available) was offered as an alternative to tea which was appreciated.

    I never write a review however, being celiac, as well as my daughter and dairy free, this restaurant excellent flavors the food was phenomenal. The service was even phenomenal. My daughter and I are also allergic to shellfish and they made sure everything was allergy friendly. This is one of our first restaurants in London, where we didn’t have any cross-contamination and did not feel sick after our meal. Highly recommend if you have celiac disease.
