The Queen Anne Victorian at 210 Savannah Road in Lewes, DE has stood tall for over 100 years. Built in 1899, Captain W. “Diver” Johnston at the age of 52 collaborated with his business partner (William H. Virden) to build a beautiful new house for him and his wife, Isabella. Records indicate that he paid $400 for the entire lot, one of the most prominent sites in downtown Lewes.Over the next 100 years, the Victorian structure built in the style of Eastlake, an English architect, served as a home for many families, including longtime Lewes Mayor, Otis Smith.The team at Raas is proud to continue the story of the Queen Anne Victorian.     The hostess and service were excellent. We got to sit where we wanted -the oyster bar so my daughter who lives in Dallas could have a great oyster house experience. The food was great! Oysters presented and explained well, staff friendly and prompt service.

    Bramble & Brine at the Buttery was fabulous in all areas. Starting with being greeted by the owner upon arrival, the entire experience was magical on Christmas Eve !The atmosphere and ambience is as perfect as it gets, with the setting a beautifully refurbished Victorian home- professionally decorated in an upbeat way. The service by our server, bar tender and support staff was impeccable. Best of all, the food and wine selection was wonderful! Our meals were cooked to perfection, and the bottle of wine recommended by the owner was sensational! The location is the best and most convenient in all of the South Delaware beaches area! Megan ( owner), really knows how to make fine dining a full and perfect experience! Bravo !
