Their first restaurant together, owners Lien Ta and Chef Jonathan Whitener opened Here's Looking At You in 2016. Named a "Restaurant of the Year" by Food & Wine Magazine and one of Eater National's "38 Most Essential Restaurants," HLAY was also the subject of author Patric Kuh's "Becoming a Restaurateur."     Highly recommend this place! I’ve been here so many times because the small plates are well priced and always delicious. I would pay more if they charged more because the food is that good. This is my favorite mediterranean restaurant in LA. We had the glazed pork, sea bass, brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, lamb hummus, and “the best cake”. The lamb hummus with pita was to die for and the cake is my favorite gluten free dairy free way to end any meal. Best. Cake. Ever. We’re still talking about this meal days later. The silverlake location is definitely the most beautiful one and the biggest with its multiple levels of seating within the trees.

    My experience here was exceptional! I'm happy I booked this place for valentines day. But I have to say calling and getting response back sucked the day of. I was running late due to traffic and I called and messaged them through the app but no response. Either the app or the restaurant need to do better with that

    Amazing service and great food. Only thing I would prefer is cloth napkins as the paper ones provided weren’t sufficient and didn’t want a bunch of dirty paper napkins on the table during Valentine’s Day dinner.
