Ospi is the sophomore restaurant of Jackson & Melissa Kalb, focused on Southern Italian cooking and way of life. The name derives from ospitante (“host” in Italian), with the expectation that guests will feel as comfortable at Ospi as they would at a friend’s dinner party. There will be plenty of house-made pastas as well as an expanded offering of pizzas. The beverage program crafted by Kalb features mostly Californian and Southern Italian wines and a full bar with a special negroni section. At Ospi, the pizza is inspired by the techniques of Antico Forno Roscioli which Jackson and Melissa frequented while visiting Rome. Focusing on Romana Tonda-style crusts that are cracker-thin, he is adapting a recipe that he feels will resonate with the LA diner. While the noise level ant my favorite the food and drinks definitely make up for it!! I have yet to have something that I didn’t like ! The green beans are a must and the short ribs are delicious!

Excellent food and ambience. The white truffle pasta was excellent. I would suggest this as a shared dish. The cauliflower was simply the best I have eaten. Fish and meat dishes were of the highest standard. Our server, Jessica, was particularly attentive. This restaurant is unique in many ways but be aware that it is rather expensive!

Had a great time. The waitress was more than patient with friends and I. One of them had diet restrictions and she patiently gave us time to figure out how the menu would work for her. The seating and lights where stunning and food was really good. To our surprise, we came on a day they did karaoke and had a lot of fun before heading out. We stayed much longer than we thought we would. Love the free parking. Cute little quaint area. Would definitely go back for the try all menu.
