Casual, fresh and bright plates, putting a unique spin on traditional Israeli street food and hospitality traditions. Some recipes, including the falafel, have been passed down for generations through Baum’s (our owner!) family and were first served at Rina’s own falafel stand in Israel in the 1950’s. No wonder she chose to name the restaurant after the women who embedded some of the fondest memories of her upbringing. Four of us enjoyed dinner on a Wednesday evening. The ambience set the mood for a great meal to follow. Our waitress offered a good deal of positive suggestions. They brought us French bread and Kerry butter. We ordered their frites to start. With our entre the table shared a legume/vegetable plate and with the bread and the frites it was easy for both couples to each share an entre and still have leftovers to take home. We had the lasagne (out of this world) ant the other couple had “la vie en rose”.
