An understated storefront hides a coveted skyline view—just one of the many ways you could underestimate this longtime cafe on Mount Baker’s main drag. The menu, the sign—even the name—are a bit of a throwback, but current owners Guy Devillier and David Hoefer took over in 2018 and keep things attuned to today. Carbonara packs more nuance than you might expect, the slightly crackly pizza’s better than it has to be, and the bar pours lambrusco and negroni.     My spouse and I celebrate all our special occasions at That’s Amore, birthdays, anniversaries, other celebrations. We love the owners and staff as well as the food and beautiful city view. The food is prepared with care and every bite is delicious!

    Went for the first time to celebrate a girlfriend’s birthday and the tearoom is so cute and charming! The food was great, the service was helpful and friendly, the tea was delicious and the assortment of fingerfood were delightful and yummy! The ambience was very festive due to it being the holiday season which was a bonus and can’t wait to revisit see how it’s decorated normally!

    A special shout out to Jackie, our server, for the excellent service she provided. Our appetizers were spaced out, so when our meal appeared, we weren't still working on them. A big plus was when we didn't have to wait around with empty glasses, which is always nice. The food was excellent with good-sized portions for lunch specials. Pizookies were delicious as always. Our reservation was during lunchtime, so it was nice and quiet and not hurried at all.
