- KKennethVIPNew York City •65 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoStopped off for lunch on the way south. The waitress was helpful and efficient. We shared an arugula salad to start; my wife had a three cheese pasta that she raved about. I had the burger which was equally excellent. My only criticism was that the salad and pasta courses were a bit on the small side; the burger was the opposite, too large to finish. While we have only been to Beacon a couple of times, their Main Street is filled with possibilities and this restaurant has to be among the best choices. Highly recommended.More infoCafe AmarcordPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Beacon•4.9

- JjaneNew York City •6 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 12, 2024We had a lovely lunch at the Thayer. The fried chicken was expertly seasoned and the best I've had. Crunchy where it should be and juicy and tender inside. The Cole slaw was just right. Great snap to the fries. The other dish was the Chicken Salad club. Hit every mark and totally enjoyed it. We also ordered the soup of the day and the only mishap was it was brought out not piping hot. A quick word to the waiter and the soup was retuned and the temperature was corrected. In fairness, most restaurants never serve piping hot soup, which they should. We had a view of the Hudson and the ambiance of the hotel and restaurant is old world elegance. The price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. We will definitely go back. It would be a fabulous place to watch the autumn colors. Next time.More infoMacArthur's Restaurant at The Historic Thayer HotelPrice: Very Expensive• American• West Point•3.8
