There's free parking, lovely relaxed seating, a lively Shebeen bar and friendly staff waiting to serve exotic meats, espetadas - (our signature dish which is a skewer of meat or seafood, dripping with marinade over your side dish), sticky ribs and much more. Surprised to find we were the only diners when we arrived on Christmas Eve for lunch, and only one other table occupied in the time we were there. The service was exemplary although there was no reason for it not to be with so few diners. Did wonder if senior kitchen staff had been given a day off as one hot starter was virtually cold and my parsnips were so undercooked I couldn’t even cut them with a knife and fork, although they were replaced some time later. It was a shame as the setting is lovely and it should have been a better experience.

The Belgian Arms never disappoints. Fantastic meal, wonderful service and nice ambience. It was very busy in the restaurant but the service was first class. Drinks were served quickly, food was brought to the table just when we were ready for it and we had plenty of time to talk and enjoy the pre-Christmas meal. This wasn’t my first meal at the Belgian Arms and won’t be the last.
