Best Lunch Restaurants in Thorpe Waterville

This was our first visit, and we were more than impressed. Daisy a lovely young lady welcomed me while my husband parked the car in the ample car park. The food was hot and plentiful, with my husband ordering the beef burger and I ordered the tapas. The portions are very generous, and I highly recommend the soft shell crab and the cheesy brussel sprouts. Although it was very busy and at times quite loud, for a lunch time, I highly recommend this establishment, it is a lovely little gem in the Greedy Gordon’s group..

Overall, a good experience. Few of the tables were very loud which was distracting (not the venues fault!), starters were very average (scallop's were 'on the turn' but well presented, French toast was under seasoned and overall underwhelming as a dish) but the steaks were EXCELLENT - one ribeye and one sirloin, both cooked to perfection. Easily the best steaks we have had in the local area for a very long time. Took advantage of the 'steak Tuesday' offer and would consider coming back for the Monday Cote de Boeuf offer in future if it is the same chef as cooked our steaks, and if the chips were left in the fryer for a couple more minutes.

The food and service was all wonderful. Great quality food with great flavours and the service was really good. Friendly staff and the choice of food on menu was good and varied. Something for everyone

The food on the Carvery was outstanding. Complements to the Chef and his team. All the front of house staff were also very helpful. This is good value for money.

Enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon at The Holt, afternoon tea was lovely, nice atmosphere and decorated with Christmas tress and a lovely fire. Nice to have warm scones as some places do not do this, and nice sandwiches and cakes. We needed to do a last minute change with the sandwich's from their menu, and the were very obliging to do so.
