Beggar's Banquet has been making folks in East Lansing, Michigan beg for more since 1973. Not that the servings are small, but because you just don't want to stop experiencing one delicious menu item after another. It actually got its name from the proprietor's favorite Rolling Stones album that was released in 1968. The American cuisine at Beggar's Banquet is full of comfort food but with an elegant twist here and there. Options are plenty on the lunch menu, dinner menu, daily brunch menu and Sunday brunch menu. One notable item is the smoked salmon cake platter. The salmon is house-smoked then formed into three New England-style cakes, each with a different flavoring for variety that goes beyond anything you have ever had. I had the ginger salmon, and it was very good. We also ordered some oysters as an appetizer and they were small and just okay. Was disappointed as we were there a few years ago and they were fantastic,don’t know what they changed but I won’t have them again. Service was great, our waitress was timely and friendly.

Great place to have dinner with friends. Was a very calm relaxed atmosphere and food was great. I had the steak frites and loaded fries. Both with great presentation and yummy. Matt our server was very knowledgeable and provided excellent service and conversation when appropriate.

Your waitress was not very good at all but I still gave her an 18% tip .Therre were four of us and we all ordered at the same time , however the waitress forgot my wife's order. She did not offer biscuits until we asked. Maybe she was too busy or a new employee, if not she would not work for me.
