- KKenNew York City •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoWent to meet my longtime friend at Terrain in Westport Connecticut today. Upon entering, I thought I was walking into a terrarium of sorts. I didn’t even realize it was a restaurant. walking past the beautiful decorations I saw lots of smiling faces; waiters and patrons. I sat down and was offered a drink right away. The menu was clean and elegantly designed. I liked how it was not overwhelming, but still had a nice range of options. The prices were great considering how lavish the decor was. I don’t think there was anything over $30 But the average I would say was $15. My friend ordered the grilled cheese and I got a medium well burger with aïoli dressing, bacon on top and a side of fries. I was really impressed with the quality of the meat combined with the juiciness of the burger. You never know what you’re gonna get when you Order medium well. The waiters were always on hand and ready to serve, but never gave us the feeling they were trying to rush us out. But we were there after the lunch rush so I don’t know what it’s like during the busiest times. Couple of lattes and we were ready to go. Was excited to explore the other areas of the place. I felt like I was at the botanical gardens with a restaurant growing out of it. It would be a great place to eat when the weather would allow outdoor seating. Besides our kind waitress, a hostess by the name of Teresa, came by to check on us. She appeared to be a nature-loving enthusiast with an artistic bent. She turned me on to a Portuguese author whom I’m interested in reading. Overall, my friend and I had a great time and now planning on returning the last Thursday of this month. There’s a lot more to experience there not only in food, but in shopping. I could easily drop $1000 at the store, considering all the unique things on display. No hesitation, offering up five stars for Terrain ! After you check it out, send me your comments. Would love to hear from you. @HEARTmyMINDMore infoTerrain Cafe – WestportPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Westport•4.7

I had a dozen perfectly chilled oysters with a jalapeño granita that were amazing. The butternut squash soup was perfectly balanced. We had the roast pork and salmon and a new chocolate dessert that consisted of cookies, ice-cream , an ice-cream sandwich and chocolate rice crispies with candied orange. The service was perfect as usual. My top restaurant choice in Connecticut.More infoolea - New HavenPrice: Very Expensive• Spanish• New Haven•4.8

The place is lovely and the food, although better than average really could be better. I find the menu somewhat limited. More offerings would be nice. I’m a “2 starters” person who is partial to Burrata and tuna tartare. The Burrata served here has totally unnecessary wild greens of some sort and grilled squash, also a distraction. How about more tomatoes, fresh basil, larger Burrata and some fabulous balsamic vinegar? As for tuna tartare, not on the menu. Work on the menu a bit to come up to the caliber of the place!More infoHeirloom - New HavenPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• New Haven•4.2
- RRonNew York State •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoCame here for a work party with the Mrs and the food was excellent, she liked it so much she wanted to return for her birthday. The date was too close to get a reservation for the evening of her birthday, but we were able to get a reservation for brunch on her b-day and she was insistent on still going despite it being earlier in the day. It did not disappoint! Food was outstanding--Spicy Sausage and Kale Pizza as an appetizer, followed by Crunchy Brioche French Toast with Caramelized Apples and Parmesan Crusted Organic Chicken, Artichokes, Lemon and Basil Sauce for main courses, and we split a salted caramel ice cream sundae w/ fudge and caramel popcorn :) Service was very attentive and frequently available, they even comped me for a refill after I spilled my glass of wine. And they confirmed that they had received my special birthday request for my wife via OpenTable and obliged as requested :) Even the parking valet was prompt and courteous! My wife was so happy with her experience and is eager to return with family & friends.More infoThe Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-GeorgesPrice: Moderate• American• Pound Ridge•4.3
