- HHelenaVIPNew York City •6 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoFood here was really good! We had a wide variety of menu items - the kids had chocolate chip pancakes and eggs Benedict; the hubby a grilled chicken club, and I had the fish and chips. The hubby was least impressed with his club sandwich (the chicken was too dry and the sandwich needed some sort of dressing), but the kids and I loved what we ordered. We also had a giant cookie with ice cream and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The waitress was super efficient and friendly. The food and drinks were delivered quickly - we arrived at 5:40 and were out the door after dinner and dessert by 6:25 for our 7:00 show. I highly recommend this restaurant for a quick but satisfying pre-show dinner.More infoCarnegie Diner & Café – 828 8th Ave, New York, NYPrice: Moderate• American• Theater District•4.3
- NNicholasSacramento / Sacramento Valley •5 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoMy wife and I made reservations ahead of our trip to NYC, and I'm so glad we did. We had foie gras, air-dried beef and honey-roasted figs. The foie did not come with crostini, but all we had to do was ask, and we had some toasted bread to spread the foie on, and it was as delicious as I remember. For dinner, I had scallop and paella with roasted pumpkin and sage. The scallops were perfectly cooked: tender, not stringy, with a good crust. My wife had short rib and aligot potatoes; the short rib was tender and well cooked, but could have been seasoned a bit more strongly. The aligot potatoes were cheesy, but not quite "stringy" (sorry IG; no epic cheese pulls here). We wrapped up the evening with a peanut-butter filled chocolate lava cake. Our server was so fantastic, Macie was so welcoming and attentive, and we enjoyed chatting with her as she came to take our orders or check in on how things were going. She did a wonderful job taking care of us. I'd definitely come back next time we're around.More infoTavern on the GreenPrice: Expensive• American• Midtown West•4.7
