Best Organic Food Restaurants in Port Costa

We loved the lighting, cocktails, and small plates. We felt very well taken care of by the bartender, Stephen. We sat at the bar which allowed us to go off of the set menu, and to ask questions and chat with the staff.

This family owned restaurant delivers on all fronts. The service is always friendly (shout out to Gabriel and Angel) and welcoming. The food is excellent (mussels, interesting tacos, guacamole, flan…etc. ). The patio ambiance is so pleasant. Nitpicking the only negatives: the high noise level is frustrating for my old ears, and I would like for them to expand the dinner menu so I have even more delicious choices. Oh there’s a full bar for the drinkers.

I just love Babette. The patio is beautiful, brick walls and glowing lights under the big redwood, the indoor space interesting and stylish and warm. The food is a treat. Today we had the borscht with short ribs, unusual and delicious. Also the 2 cheese and grilled onion sandwich, and the baby gem salad with poached salmon. The salads had thin cumquat slices and grapefruit as well as greens, very fresh. Also the almond pistachio cake that we shared with a candle since we were celebrating a birthday. Every bite was a pleasure. I am so glad that Babette is open for lunch now!

The tacos were fantastic. I had a lobster taco & a shrimp taco. The shrimp taco was out of this world. My husband had a chicken taco & a filet mignon taco. They were both delicious, but he preferred the chicken. Our normal server was not in today, and even though the restaurant was pretty slow, our server took a very long time between visits to the table. My husband had to go to the hostess station to tell them we were ready to order.

Always a very pleasant experience. Food and service are great. Wife and I always enjoy our meals at the Slanted Door and highly recommend it to others.
