Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous Fried Chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

Tucked into one of Portland’s beautifully restored industrial buildings, Olympia Provisions Southeast has grown from establishing the city’s first salumeria to being a destination for refined, European-style dishes. Four of us had Thanksgiving dinner at this iconic Portland restaurant, one of the few “oldies” to survive the pandemic. You will not find better service anywhere - every single staff person here provides outstanding customer service and excel in their fields. The food was fine - nothing memorable, but they were putting out 5 courses to a full restaurant all day long and managed to pull it off, so they get points for that IMO!

Amazing Thanksgiving meal - every bite was delicious. And the cocktails too. We ate outside with a dog, and it was cold in spite of the heat lamps, but otherwise it was a simply perfect dining experience! Loved the decor inside, especially the framed handwritten recipes from the owner's grandmother (reminded me of ones I have from my grandmother!)

Inventive, seasonal food in a thoughtfully designed space. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal and our wines. The carrots and celery root scallops were the highlights! This is definitely the kind of restaurant you want to visit every season to see what new delights they've dreamed up. Highly recommend!
