Chat Thai became an instant smash hit in 1989 when it opened its first restaurant with plenty of heat and authentic Thai dishes. We've since added restaurants in Circular Quay, Westfield Sydney, Neutral Bay, Chatswood and Galeries Victoria, and in 2015 we added organic, fresh produce from our farm in Byron Bay. A truly chilled vibe befitting of it's smart casual bayside comfortable scenic dining. Dined at dusk as the sun went down in exchange for the luminescent festive season lights filling the restaurants pandemic panoramic windows. Will return to try more dishes yet ensuring to allow a couple hours for service. The bluefin tuna crudo up there with likes of high calibre sashimi, secondis were belissimo and the chocolate mousse - to die for, simply amazing. Service was, well - seated at just before 7pm (for a 6:30pm booking - which was fine as an opportunity to enjoy a drink on the balcony overlooking the entire Bondi shoreline) yet didn't finish it dining experience till 10pm. Wait staff, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable but not an ideal place if you're after a quick in and out. Be sure to have a few hours to spare - maybe a long catch-up with friends or family you haven't seen in a while.
