Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. I had the pasta and my wife the crab/shrimp cakes with an excellent Picpoul de Pinet from Flores. Food was excellent and the bar was hoppin - saw several staff we've known for years of coming to one of our favorite spots in PDX!!

The fried chicken is delicious and the whipped potatoes are very flavorful. Definitely an excellent place to eat and now that they take reservations, definitely on my hit parade.

The food is excellent. The offerings are both traditional and uniquely adventurous. We enjoyed both. Sake flight was fantastic. 21-day aged salmon was a highlight as well as 7-day aged sea bream. The portions are smaller than most sushi restaurants and more expensive. As many have mentioned in other reviews, the service is slow. Very slow. Having read that, we settled in for a relaxed meal. The pace pushed us beyond relaxed to impatient. We would definitely return when we have plenty of time.
