Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Bilbrough

Every thing about our night out was great until they brought the bill...i know things have a service charge but to stand there and say you don't have to pay it if you dont want kinda puts you on the spot a bit ,but our service charge was £7 (which i didnt pay by the way ) as£7 pounds for carring 2 plates is a bit high and if service charge wasnt on the bill we would have left a tip at our discretion...as we are pensioners and i felt for the group of8 students opposite whose bill was over £200 pound making that £20...im just glad we did not order a bottle of champagne at £100 as that would have been another £10for carring it to the table .......bit naughty Lucias

If you are visiting Harrogate then this restaurant is an absolute must to eat in ! The staff are some of the most welcoming I have met in any restaurant I have visited ! Their service was second to none and nothing was too much for them. The atmosphere is brilliant and not for one second did we feel rushed or like we had to leave at the end of our meal we were able to continue to enjoy the atmosphere and chat. The food is beautiful ! Well priced , great portion size and lovely presentation ! I will be back to visit I was extremely happy 10/10 !!!

Our experience at the Refectory was outstanding. The ambience and overall feel of the restaurant was relaxing and chilled. The food was simply some of the best we have ever had (now I really understand what an explosion of flavours means when they say it on Masterchef). Prices I would say were mid to high but the food was worth every single penny. Staff were attentive without being overly so & myself and my husband will definitely return when we visit York again.

Fantastic place with a great atmosphere and lovely decor. We went because we had heard about the steak pie and can say, wholeheartedly, it lived up to all expectations. Delicious food.

Family night out for start to Xmas. Easy to reserve table on internet, we turned up a bit early so went for a drink in bar. That was a little more noisier but not too bad. Shown to table in the ‘Snug’ where it was much quieter and food orders taken quite quickly. Food comes owed to order so took a while to arrive but it was worth it, the food was piping hot, well presented and tasted lovely Will definately go back again
