Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.For information about private parties and reservations for 16+ guests please visit terroni.com to connect with our events team.

In the heart of the Financial District, Modus Ristorante is Toronto's plush spot for refined Italian cuisine. We host one of the Financial District's best patios with ample seating for all occasions. Modus might serve Italian food, but refreshingly, no one’s anxious to label it “rustic.” Modus’s menu takes recognizable Italian classics and re-creates them as fine-dining fares. The restaurant offers an extensive 300-bottle wine program, with seasonally selected wine by the glass. A focus on Italian, Californian and South American wines provides excellent pairing for a fine dining experience. The main entry is located in a quiet courtyard, drawing patrons away from the humming activity of Queen Street West. A beautiful Nutcracker Tea was the perfect way for us to celebrate a very special occasion. The food was elegant, charming and delightfully delicious. This is a unique tea that follows the pattern of a traditional Afternoon Tea in the British style, but one that is delicately and artfully infused with Asian favours. All of this is served in a setting that is contemporarily stylish with an understated elegance. It is always a privilege to hear the wonderful Fazioli piano being played beneath the gorgeous chandelier. The chef was incredibly kind in preparing 2 substitute items to accommodate a very serious food allergy. If I could change anything, it would be the actual tea. For an event of this magnitude, fresh tea rather than bagged tea should be brewed and boiling water must be used. Sadly, our tea arrived only lukewarm. It is also impossible to revive a teabag with more not-hot-enough water (which we had to ask for and which took forever to arrive). Surely, at this pricepoint an additional bag could have been spared. I must admit that our service was very, very minimal. 45 minutes after we had finished every crumb and every sip, my partner finally went in search of someone to bring our bill. We were very happy to linger, truly, but that was quite a long bit of lingering, even in the lovely, lovely setting. We do look forward to another tea in the future.

We went for dinner and celebrated my nephews bday, and the service, ambiance, history of the building and most importantly, the food was superb. We started with burrata and prosciutto, funghi salad, calamari and carpaccio.. all amazing, baratta was a crowd favourite, mine was the funghi salad. Second were the pizzas, we had the sausage pizza and the goat cheese aubergine pizza…. Simply amazing, third were the pasta.. the bolognese was so delicious along with the mushroom prosciutto.. just wow. And pls have their desserts! The tiramisu and the affogato were so amazing. Will definitely go back. And not to forget their incredible wine selection !! Must try

Fantastic food and service, I was expecting based on other reviews. The flavours were complex and balanced. What was unexpected (and a delight!) was that Leña Restaurant also served excellent coffee and non-alcoholic cocktails. I get the impression that every detail of the menu had been carefully thought out.
